ENC 1101 Written Communication I (3 a.A. that is)(
Three hours each week. Prerequisite of ENC 0025C and REA 0017 or score that is appropriate English and Reading placement tests. This course meets Area I need for the A.A., A.S. and A.A.S. general education requirements. This program encompasses grammar and diction review, composition, expository writing, work with both primary and multiple source themes, instruction within the use of the library and writing the research paper and practice in oral communication.
ENC 1102 Written Communication II (3)(A.A.)
Three hours per week. Prerequisite ENC 1101 with a grade of “C” or better: This course meets Area I dependence on the A.A. education that is general. Although this course is an introduction to literature, with a focus on fiction, drama and poetry, emphasis is on composition and grammar. A study paper is needed.
Three hours lecture per week. Prerequisite: ENC 1101 with a grade of “C” or better. This really is a basic course in communication, both written and oral, for anyone who must convey specific information accurately and clearly. Representative aspects of technical communication encountered in industry and business are covered.
Three hours each week. Prerequisites: ENC 1101 and concurrent registration in or completion of ENC 1102 with a grade of “C” or better. This course is a workshop that is beginning the writing of poetry and/or fiction; projects in drama are optional. Assignments (some formal, some thematic) in a choice of poetry and/or fiction are created to stimulate beginning writers and to familiarize all of them with literary techniques and forms. Students are required to share their poetry and/or fiction aided by the class to participate in class discussion. This course may be repeated for credit.
Three hours per week. Prerequisites: ENC 1101, CRW 2001, and concurrent registration in completion of ENC 1102 or its equivalent with a grade of C or better. This course meets the Gordon Rule requirements. This program could be the level that is second when you look at the writing or poetry and/or short fiction; projects in drama are optional. Assingments (some formal, some thematic) are created to stimulate level that is second also to familiarize all of them with literary techniques and forms. Students are required to talk about their make use of the class and to participate in class discussion.
Pre-requisite/co-requisite EAP 0386 Integrated Reading, Speaking, and Listening III. Placement by Accuplacer and writing sample. Five hours each week. Intermediate-level English language learners will acquire skills essential to write well-developed paragraphs using grammar that is intermediate rhetorical structures. A grade of C or better is essential to move to EAP 0485 Integrated Grammar and Writing IV.

High intermediate-level English language learners will acquire skills necessary to write multi-paragraph essays using intermediate grammar and rhetorical structures. A grade of C or better is important to maneuver to EAP 1540 Writing V.
Prerequisites: Placement by ESL Accuplacer and good essay writing service sample that is writing successful completion of EAP 0485. This might be an advanced level writing|level that is advanced course for ESL students designed to develop their capability to write basic, structured academic essays with an emphasis on accuracy and cohesiveness and execute other academic writing tasks. Take note that a maximum of an overall total of twelve (12) combined credits from EAP courses may count toward A.A. elective credits. This program is required for students whose performance that is past test scores indicate a necessity for training in the basic skills of written communication. After successful completion with a grade of “C” or better, the learning student may enroll in ENC 0025C.
Prerequisite: ENC 0015C or test that is appropriate. This course is required for students whose performance that is past test scores indicate a necessity for training in the essential skills of written communication with emphasis on writing multiparagraph essays. The student may enroll in ENC 1101 after successful completion with a grade of “C” or better and receiving passing scores on both sections of the state exit exam.
